Niittymaki is the Sharks new Goaltender

Antero Niittymaki will be between the pipes with Thomas Greiss next season. He just signed a 2 year deal worth a total of 4 million dollars.

I LOVE this snag for the Sharks. Having actually watched about 20 Lightning games in which Niitty started last year, I know what he brings to the table. The guy is a very solid wall who has a knack for being in the right place at the right time. He moves well side to side and if not for Tampa Bay’s soft defense last season, Niittymaki would have had more wins, a higher save %, and a better GAA.

This is a good signing for San Jose……………It saves us over 4 million in cap space that Nabokov took up last season and now allows us to spend freely on a top two or three defenseman.
