Friday Night Fight Club (The “Happy New Years Edition”)…

facebooktwitterreddit

It’s the holiday season. I hope all Sharks fans and readers and staff of Blades of Teal are having the best of Holiday Seasons. It’s the time of year where we look at the years gone by and look forward to what’s ahead. The holidays bring good cheer, good times, and on occasion it’s also brings together those who say “Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!” slighly differently….as in “You wanna Go?!” Nothing bring’s the on the warmth of the holiday’s quite like seeing the gloves drop…

First Up, It’s the Minnesota Wild’s Matt Kassian versus the Edmonton Oilers Darcy Hordichuk durring the second period of their game Thursday Night. The two exchange pleasantries, though it looks like Kassian may have been a little more than Hordichuk could handle…

Ofcourse, the first meeting between the two went so well they both apparently thought, “Hey, let’s give this crowd their moneysworth and do it again”…and so they did at the start of the third period…

Kassian 2, Hordichuk 0…

Last Wendesday Night in Phoenix, it was the Boston Bruins Adam McQuaid versus one of hockey’s all time antagonist, Raffi Torres of the Coyotes…

…Was that a good exchange of holiday cheer, or what?!! McQuaid may not win anymore popularity contest than Torres. However, as Bruins play-by-play announcer for NESN Jack Edwards mentioned McQuaid and the team in general have each other’s backside. That’s one reason they are defending Stanley Cup Champions…

Not to be outdone, the Red Wings Todd Bertuzzi and the Blackhawks Dan Carcillo wanted also to exchange holiday greetings as only they can…

…and finally, this nice complimation which takes about 6 minutes to watch, and has the Guns N Roses musical score that really does it justice (“You Could Be Mine” aka “The Love Theme to Terminator 2”). This was probably put together about 15 years ago, but is well edited and takes us all back to the days of “Old Time Hockey”…

Please don’t try any of this a home, it won’t work and you’ll probably destroy good furniture and find yourself in the emergency room too…To quote Fear Factor’s Joe Rogan, these stunts (or fights) should not be attempted by “Anyone, anywhere, at anytime”…

Have a very safe and Happy New Year, as well as a very successful 2012!!! Now, back to the egg nog!!!

GO SHARKS!!! “WE WANT THE CUP!!!”
