BoT Gameday: Sharks @ Wild

What was once a matchup of two top teams in the Western Conference has suddenly changed. Minnesota has dealt with the injury bug and has caused them to have a nightmarish losing streak. They went from #1 in the NHL to clinging to a playoff spot. In fact prior to their last meeting, the Wild have gone 4-8-3. San Jose meanwhile has come on strong going 9-3-3 in the same stretch. Team Teal is on a four game winning streak and 7-1-1 it’s last nine games.

Tonight also marks the return of Brent Burns to Minnesota. Almost certain he should get a great applause from the State of Hockey. A fan favorite for eight seasons, was loved among those who supported the Forest Green, Iron Range Red, Harvest Gold, and Minnesota Wheat.

For the Sharks, tonight begins a four game Midwest road trip, a precursor to lengthy road trips to come later in the year. This is a game in hand on Los Angeles, so San Jose can open up a little bit of a larger lead in the Pacific with a victory.

Remember, this game is on NBC Sports Network (formerly Versus) at 4:30.
