The Yard Sale – Look Back Look Forward

facebooktwitterreddit

Hey Sharks and loyal BoT fans! I’ve missed all of you dearly this past week as I’ve been sidelined by being ridiculously ill buy I’m back, doing much better, and ready to write for you! I’d like to take a moment to flash back to Tuesday night today and make a few comments on the massacre that was the Blue Jackets at Sharks.
I went to bed Monday night having every intention of chilling out the next evening watching the game and getting some work done after having been in Minnesota over the weekend. Unfortunately for me the world had other plans and I was going to find myself in the hospital the next day far before the game was to start. As I lay in the ER, sick, dehydrated, on a series of pain medications via IV that would make an addict higher than a kite I thought to myself “I hope they have NHL sports here…” and then I’m pretty sure I lost consciousness.
Hours later as I was coming around to the land of the living having received multiple bags of IV fluid and medicine I decided to flip on the TV and see if I could find the game. I managed to stumble on the Tampa game and followed that for a little while before crashing again. One of the nurses looked at me funny when I kept trying to turn it onto hockey, I think it’s still weird to see girls flip on NHL instead of MTV or something these days. Regardless, I woke up at one point and there were our Sharks on screen! Not only were they winning, they were killing the Blue Jackets and making my very sick day a little brighter with the yard sale they had so kindly thrown down for sick little ole me! (OK, not really for me, but I’ll pretend).

It was obvious that I had missed a very intense game that was ending in desperation and frustration and I was completely ok with it. I watched and thought ‘this is where guys like Frazer McLaren would be helpful.’ I did find the massive tilly to be a great example of multi-dimensional players though, and the Sharks are proving time and time again that toughness cannot only come with talent, it thrives on it.

How will the boys fare against the apparently ill-fated Coyotes tonight? Check out the BoT pregame for more on that, but don’t be surprised if we see another act of desperation tonight as the Coyotes should feel some pressure from the boys in teal.
