TUESDAY TANK TRADE RUMORS…SORT OF…

When sitting down to write today’s trade rumors I was faced with a dilemma…there really aren’t any huge rumors swirling around the tank today. Sure we can revisit the Rick Nash debate, but as far as I’m concerned we’ve been there, done that, and if you want any more opinion on it I will direct you to CSN Sharks Insider Kevin Kurz and his blog on why Nash moving to the Sharks doesn’t make sense right now. I hit up good old trustworthy tsn.ca/tradecentre because their information is usually pretty up to date and here is what I found…a lot of talk about how a lot of teams have a lot of money. Ok, cool, so what? There’s always some money to be found. According to them the Sharks are in position to be big spenders coming in with just under 12 Million dollars to play with…right now. Theoretically speaking the Sharks can pull in some high ticket players right now, but would ultimately have to sacrifice in seasons to follow if they truly entertained big contracts similar to the likes of Rick Nash.

Of course we’ll note once again the acquisition of Forward Dominic Moore from Tampa Bay and a seventh round selection in exchange for a second round selection. Moore has already suited up for team teal with 28:19 TOI and 1 pt so far over the past 2 games.

Other details to note from over the weekend; McCarthy was reassigned to Worcester and Demers came off of IR.  Nothing too unexpected there. Goalie Alex Stalock continues to show improvement making his return debut to the AHL Worcester Sharks on Sunday making 15 saves and stopping Alexandre Giroux on a third period penalty shot try and chalked up a W in the 2-1 victory over Springfield.
