Friday Fight Club: Round & Round We Go

One of my all time favorite pieces EVER at Blades of Teal has always been the Friday Fight Club! It has changed hands a couple of times, and today it’s my turn to resurrect it! Since we’re well into playoffs now, I decided to go with some of the more recent fights that have taken place within the first two rounds. So sit back, relax, and enjoy some hard hits and sweater pulling from today’s greatest NHL’ers.

Let’s go ahead and start with a good old fashioned brawl between the come from behind LA Kings and the disappointing Vancouver Canucks. Anze Kopitar and Alexandre Burrows are the highlight of this multi-player battle and while they get all tied up they still manage to get some nice hits in.

Next let’s go to the Sharks and Blues series. Normally I wouldn’t show a video of a Shark getting absolutely owned in a fight, but decided to showcase the fact that even the playoffs don’t intimidate rookie Tommy Wingels. He’ll fight and lose five days a week and twice on Sundays…because it’s the cup. Good on ya Tommy, you don’t get better at something unless you practice!

And the final video for this week’s Fight Club…Kyle Chipchura of the Coyotes and Paul Gaustad of Nashville get into a classic hockey tangle. Good clean hits get exchanged here but Chipchura is definitely getting owned in my opinion. Really wish the Preds had been the ones to win that series…so maybe part of me is just a little bitter yet and doesn’t mind seeing a Coyote get roughed up…although he does have one of the greatest names in the NHL right now if you ask me!

Until next time Team Teal Fans, remember that the first rule of fight club at Blades of Tea is: Tell EVERYONE about Friday Fight Club at Blades of Teal!
