I’d like to extend my congratulations first and foremost to the Russian team on taking te Gold in the IIHF championship over Slovakia! That being said, congrats as well to the Slovakian team for taking the Silver in this awesome international competition! At least one Shark can say he ended the year with something Silver to his name…it might not be the cup, but Congrats to our very own Michal Handzus on that Silver he just won with his home country! I think it says a lot about the caliber of players we have here in San Jose! He wasn’t the only Shark competing in this event but since his team is walking away with a prize, I’ll give him some individual attention right now! Great job to everyone who played and won!

Congrats to Handzus and his teams Silver Medal showing in the WHC. It’s just too bad we never really got to see a whole lot of this while with the Sharks. I have an idea he will be one of a few Sharks that will have a new NHL address next season…
