BoT Roundtable – Catch 22

A great man once said: “sometimes you have to roll the hard six.”  What does that mean?  Who the hell knows, so here’s what I asked the writers this week:

Would you rather take a shot from Zdeno Chara, or a hit from Douglas Murray?

Joe
Shot from Chara, no doubt. I’d rather have a broken arm than a broken body.

Mike
This question is so binary.  Both are terrifying.  If I’m wearing equipment and it’s in the shinpads, the shot.  If completely unprotected, the hit from Murray.

Darryl
As Clint Eastwood once said, “A man has got to know his limitations”… Whether it’s a shot from Zdeno Chara, or a hit from Douglas Murray, it can’t be any worse than getting hit by a bus…

Benny
I’d get hit by Murray any day. Have you ever gotten hit by a puck? That hunk of rubber hurts to no end from amateur. It going at 100 mph would probably break something of mine.

Andy
It depends. If the shot from Chara is in to my shin pads I could handle it but probably wouldn’t like it. But the hit from Murray,as long as it’s not square into the boards, I’d prefer it. Woozy > shattered bones.

Gordon
Hit from Murray hands down.  I’d prefer a mild concussion to broken bones because I’m not Sidney Crosby and I won’t wail about it for over a year.  That and I like being able to walk, which is damned near impossible after taking a blast from Charazard.
