Ryane Clowe should be one of your favorite Sharks.  His play is eerily reminiscant of another winger, Wendel Clark of the Leafs, Nordiques, Islanders, Leafs again, Lightning, Wings, Blackhawks and Leafs a third time.  For those of you who don’t know Captain Crunch, and even if you do, CLICK ON THIS LINK to see some of the best hits, goals and fights you’ve ever seen.  Easily my favorite video ever about my favorite NHL player ever.  Remind you of anyone on the Sharks?  Absolutely.  So much so that my buddy JJ and I have taken to calling him Wendell Clowe among our crew of puckheads.

In a recent interview with ESPN.com found here, Clowey displays his typical tenacity in his stance against the lockout.  The best part of this article is how Clowe’s talks, exactly like you think he would, about the lockout being more about following through with promises than anything else.  To anyone who’s ever seen him play, this attitude of honor shouldn’t come as a surprise coming from a guy who’s not afraid to get his hands a little dirty protecting other folks.

Clowe’s also been vocal about this lockout all along.  Kevin Kurz did a great interview with him last month, and David Pollack at the Merc talked to Ryane before the lockout when Clowe reiterated his stance that it’s on the owners to sign contracts they can afford rather than force the players to police the owners’ budgets.  Ryane, buddy, I feel you.  This writer has already agreed with you in a previous piece found here.  When the time comes for your next contract, I’m hoping they’ve figured it all out and you still get the raise you deserve…and most importantly that you stay in Teal.  Here’s to a swift end to the lockout.
