Tonight the ECHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks are in action tonight as they travel to the central valley to take on the Stockton Thunder.  For the San Francisco Bulls, they have had one busy week.  On January 14th Pat Curcio made the first ever blockbuster trade in franchise history when he sent former Captain Justin Bowers and offensive defenseman Sacha Guimond to the Gwinnett Gladiators in exchange for scoring forwards Christian Ouellet, Rylan Galiardi and puck moving defenseman Cody Carlson.  What is interesting about this trade, is that there is a San Jose connection that involves T.J. Galiardi (SJ Sharks forward) and Rylan Galiardi both whom are brothers.  Pat Curcio was not done making moves with his roster.  Yesterday he added Sebastian Trudeau to help bolster their offense.  Trudeau came from the Bloomington Blaze of the Central Hockey League.

Meanwhile, the last time these two Pacific Division rivals met was back on December 17, 2012 for a special game at the home of the San Jose Sharks.  For just the second time in ECHL history, two teams battled it out at a current NHL venue, meeting at HP Pavilion.  While the result wasn’t what the Bulls wanted—a 6-4 loss—the two teams entertained a crowd of 12,881 hockey fans from throughout the Bay Area.

Entering tonight’s contest the San Francisco Bulls are in fourth place in the ECHL Pacific Division with a 13-19-1-4 record with 31 points to their credit and are positioned eight overall in the Western Conference.  As for the Stockton Thunder, they are current in second place trailing the Ontario Reign by 10 points with a 20-13-4-3 record that includes 47 points.  Furthermore, the Thunder are among the top 4 in the Western Conference as they are the current holder of the fourth seed.

As it stands today, the San Francisco Bulls have a 3-1 lead over the Stockton Thunder on the season series with tonight’s game making it the fifth of 13 meetings between the two clubs.  Furthermore, the Thunder are playing hosts for the first time of the season against the Bulls.

Tonight’s contest has a 7:30p PST puck drop and can heard on KNBR.com and for America One Sports subscribers at Americaonesports.com.
