Saturday Night Hockey: Worcester Sharks Vs. Providence Bruins

Tonight the proud AHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks are in action as the Worcester Sharks host the Providence Bruins for their 2nd Annual PINK IN THE RINK NIGHT.  In addition to Worcester playing hosts to Providence, they will wear specially PINK jerseys.  The PINK jerseys will all be auctioned off through raffle, chinese auction, silent auction, a post-game live auction, and a select few via an online auction; with proceeds to benefit the Cup Crusaders. The Sharks will also be selling PINK mystery autograph pucks with proceeds to benefit the Cup Crusaders.

The last time Worcester squared off against the Providence Bruins was back on January 26, 2013 in which they where defeated 4-3 in the shootout.  Tonight’s matchup makes it their eight meeting on the series with Worcester currently leading the season series 5-2.

As of today the Worcester Sharks are sitting in third place in the AHL’s Atlantic Division with a 20-17-1-5 record and 46 points to their credit.  In addition, they are seventh overall in the Eastern Conference.  For the visiting Providence Bruins they are in second place and just three points behind Portland with 24-16-0-3 record and 51 points to their credit.  Furthermore, they are positioned in fifth overall in the East.

The game has a 7:00p EST puck drop at the DCU Center and be heard on WTAG News/Talk 580 and 94.9 FM.  In addition, tonight’s matchup is also available to subscribers at AHL Live.
