The NHL released their 2013-14 schedule late Friday afternoon. The regular season begins on October 1st when the Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks will host the Washington Capitals. NHL Opening Day will also feature two additional games. The Toronto Maples Leafs will renew their rivalry with the Montreal Canadians while Winnipeg takes on Edmonton. The San Jose Sharks meanwhile will start their 2013-14 season on Thursday October 3rd at 7:30pm (Pacific Time) when they host the Vancouver Canucks at the Shark Tank which will now be known officially as the SAP Center. The Sharks will also host the Phoenix Coyotes on Saturday October 5th, then the New York Rangers on Tuesday October 8th during their season opening three game home stand. The Sharks first road game of the season will be October 10th in Vancouver.

With divisional and conference re-alignment the Sharks will see some noticeable changes in how often they will play some teams. For example the Sharks through last season saw the Detroit Red Wings four times a season. This year the Sharks will only travel to Detroit once (October 21st) as the Red Wings are now in the Eastern Conference, joined by the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Sharks will host the Red Wings at the Shark Tank on January 9th, 2014. Meanwhile the Sharks will see a new foe in the Western Conference in the Winnipeg Jets, who feature former Sharks Devin Setoguchi and Kyle Wellwood.

The Sharks however will have no shortages of games against rivals Anaheim and Los Angeles, as well as their budding rivalry with Vancouver. The 2012 Cup Champion Kings will visit the Shark Tank on November 27th, January 27th and April 3rd. The arch rival Ducks will visit the Shark Tank on November 30th, December 29th, and March 20th. One of the three games the Sharks will play against the Ducks in Anaheim will be in December 31st with a 5pm (Pacific Time) start. The Canucks aside from the season opener on October 3rd will also visit San Jose on November 7th. The defending Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks will visit the Shark Tank making their one and only regular season appearance at the Shark Tank on February 1st. The Sharks meanwhile will travel to Chicago twice, November 17th and January 5th.

The Sharks will get exposure on NBC Sports Network, NHL Network, TSN and CBC-TV as well as many games will be carried by these networks in addition to Comcast Sports Network in Northern California. For the complete look at the Sharks 2013-14 schedule click on the link below:
