This should be an outstanding contest between these two Pacific Division Rivals. Both the Sharks and the Coyotes are attempting to build off of big season-opening wins. San Jose kicked the Vancouver Canucks to the curb by a final score of 4-1 on October 3, while the Desert Dogs got a hat trick from Radim Vrbata en route to a 4-1 victory over the New York Rangers last night.
Both squads have received outstanding goaltending so far, while the offenses have been clicking at high rates for both the Sharks and the Coyotes.
They’ll clash tonight at the Shark tank as San Jose plays its second straight game at home. They’ll have one more contest in San Jose before heading out for their first away game of the season against the Ottawa Senators.
Among the players to watch in tonight’s contest for the Sharks are Joe Thornton, Brent Burns and Logan Couture. Couture in particular was outstanding in the season opener, and he’ll look to build off of that positive momentum against Phoenix.
