San Jose Sharks: A look at the week ahead

There are as close to gimmie-points at the Sharks will have this week. The Buffalo Sabres are one of the worst teams in the NHL, and don’t seem to be fired up to play the role of spoilers at this juncture. They’re selling off assets for draft picks and seem to have already cashed in on this lost season.

It’s tough to blame them.

Buffalo is 2-13-1 on the year and has only accumulated five points through the first month of action. Alex Stalock might get the nod here to give Antti Niemi some rest. Ryan Miller has played well for the Sabres, but the lack of offensive supports he’s receiving is laughable on the best of nights.
