Matt Irwin enters his second full NHL season as a rookie defenseman, looking to improve in his game.

2013-14 Season Review

In his first full year up in the big League, the rookie defenseman finished 2nd  in shots on goal among Sharks defensemen with 147 and set a career high so far of 19 points. He recorded his first assist of the season on Oct. 5th against now the Arizona Coyotes and scored his first goal as well as tallying an assist on Dec. 17th in St. Louis. So far, not a bad start for him.

2014-15 Season Preview

With the 26-year-old undoubtedly a roster lock, he’ll probably be paired alongside with Jason Demers. Expect him to further improve in his game being mentored by veteran D-man Scott Hannan.
