San Jose Sharks Lose Big To New York Rangers

The San Jose Sharks took their first big loss of the season tonight against the New York Rangers. True, it’s difficult to come into Madison Square Garden and take a win, but there’s no reason the 4-0 loss should have happened.

The night was full of mistakes and a weary team that didn’t show much of anything out there on the ice. When asked about all the problems, Marc Edouard-Vlasic stated that the majority of the mistakes were preventable:

"“Turnover on the fourth goal, the two shots from the blue line – miscommunication, mishandled it. It’s something we can clean up. That’s the way it goes.”"

Todd McLellan expresses his disappointment in the following video on the Sharks website:

“Eaten alive” at the faceoffs is exactly what happened. Faceoffs are essential to the success in a hockey game. It’s not surprising that the outcome was so bad after seeing how the Sharks performed here. And there was no reason for it really. Sure, the team was on it’s second game of back to backs, but the Sharks usually perform much, much better in the faceoffs.

Although I do have to say that I loved the way the Sharks social media handled the sadness of getting scored on one too many times.

If you can’t win… you might as well have a little fun.
