A battle of two game winning streaks tonight as the Tampa Bay Lightning makes their only visit to HP Pavilion to take on the suddenly injury riddled San Jose Sharks tonight. San Jose will be without the services of Douglas Murray, Jim Vandermeer, and now Martin Havlat who had a freak injury when attempting to jump over the boards. However, Murray and/or Vandermeer could be returning Friday. Benn Ferriero was called up from Worcester to likely fill Havlat’s spot.
All in all, should be a great matchup with two high octane offenses with great players on each end. Marleau, Thornton, Pavelski, Couture against Tampa Bay’s Lecavalier, St. Louis, and phenom Steven Stamkos.
