BoT Gameday: Stars @ Sharks

facebooktwitterreddit

Well that was a nice, 60 minute effort to start the stretch drive on Tuesday night! The San Jose Sharks enter tonight’s game against the Dallas Stars on a two game winning streak and have not allowed a goal in a little over 153 minutes. A great achievement considering the struggles on special teams all season.

San Jose continues to show signs of a dominant Stanley Cup contender especially on Tuesday night when they handled the Columbus Blue Jackets 6-0. They used their speed, skill, discipline and toughness for a dominant performance. The big players stepped up and contributed. Thornton, Marleau, and Pavelski each had a goal and if there was ever a time for those three to get going, now would be a great time. As of this posting, it is uncertain if Ryane Clowe will return for tonight’s game. He would be a huge boost to Sharks swagger to put fear on opponents.

As for Dallas, they started out strong and had a grasp of first place in the Pacific Division. However, injuries and tough play took their toll and enter tonight’s game just on the outside looking in on a playoff spot. The Stars halted a suddenly surging Anaheim Ducks squad last night with a 6-2 victory. Rumors continue to surround Big D if team captain, Brendan Morrow will be a piece moved at the deadline. Perhaps someone that the Sharks could use?

Team Teal needs to continue to bring relentless attack and killer instinct, but Dallas historically has fared well at the Shark Tank. A classic rivalry rekindled with playoff implications, Sharks vs. Stars, let’s pucking do this!
