BoT Gameday: Blackhawks @ Sharks

Two struggling elite teams faceoff at the Shark Tank as the San Jose Sharks take on the Chicago Blackhawks. This is the final home game for San Jose before embarking on a 9-game road trip. Team Teal has hit a rut and allowed nine goals in it’s last two games, both regulation losses. Chicago is in a major rut, a few weeks ago they were in first place in the Central. Now losers of six straight games they’re trying to get back on track themselves.
This is a crucial game for both teams. Chicago in the midst of a tough 9-game road trip that included getting destroyed by Edmonton featuring an epic night for Sam Gagner. They have fallen behind Detroit, St. Louis, and Nashville and any further they could be fighting for their playoff lives once again. The same can be said with the Sharks. They have their next nine games on the road and while they have four games in hand on second place Los Angeles, but sit just two points ahead of them in the Pacific Division standings.
Despite being 2-2-0 since the All-Star break, certain individuals have been on strong streaks. Logan Couture has scored at least one point in seven consecutive games (5g, 5a), Joe Thornton has scored eight points in the last four games. Michal Handzus has goals in three of the last four games, doubling his total prior to the All-Star break.
So a huge game on a rare Friday Black Armor Night. A 60+ minute effort is required. Let’s Pucking Do This!
