BoT Gameday: Sharks @ Lightning

facebooktwitterreddit

An impressive win on national television is always nice, right? Especially at the hands of one of the NHL’s most talented and hyped clubs. Tonight, the San Jose Sharks head into Tampa Bay Times Forum as they clash against Vincent Lecavalier, Martin St. Louis and a struggling Tampa Bay Lightning.

Tampa looked to be a team on the rise and a Stanley Cup contender once again. Sadly, the other Florida team looks more like a team destined for the playoffs. The Bolts sit 10 points out of a playoff spot and may have to decide soon whether or not it will buy or sell at the trade deadline. Goaltender Dwayne Roloson has always been a thorn in the San Jose Sharks, including being the winning netminder that guided the 2005-06 Edmonton Oilers back to the Stanley Cup Final.

As for the Sharks, they seem to right the ship only with hiccups in their strong play costing them in the end. However, Team Teal continued to be strong with three power play goals on Monday night in Washington. Logan Couture continues to keep getting points, while playmaker Joe Thornton continues on his second half surge. Things just seem to click in that last game, and if they can keep that going, watch out.

Tonight is part one of the second back to back stretch of games on this road trip. Tomorrow they head to Carolina. But tonight it’s the Sharks and Lightning from a renovated Tampa Bay Times Forum. Let’s pucking do this!
