Joe Pavelski was already in the midst of a career year. One thing has been missing to make his season so far all that more sensational and he finally was able to get it today, his first ever National Hockey League hat-trick. As a result, Joe Pavelski’s goal total rose to 25, the 3rd highest in the NHL.
This game very nearly became his 23rd 2-goal game of his career when his “third” goal of the game ended up undergoing countless scoring changes. It was changed from
Matt Irwin‘s goal to
Brent Burns‘, back to Irwin, to Burns, to Pavelski, to Burns again, and finally back to Pavelski for the hat-trick (not the exact scoring changes, but it was something like that). You couldn’t help but see an outburst of this kind coming for Pavelski as he has struggled many times to net that third goal. For all you Sharks fans that are as excited and happy for Joe Pavelski as I am, relive the natural hat-trick in the video below.
What a crazy game! Pavelski’s hat-trick came right after Martin St. Louis netted a natural hat-trick of his own, making this game the 4th one in history where two opposing sides both scored natural hat-tricks.
