It was a defensive battle for both teams for much of the game, with some occasional chances coming from both teams. This was a much different Winnipeg Jets team for the San Jose Sharks, as they’d come in winning 4 straight under newly appointed head coach Paul Maurice. However, the Sharks snapped that streak with the lone goal by none other than the red-hot Joe Pavelski.

Stalock’d In

The pun is probably getting over used, but it’s true regardless. Alex Stalock was once again sharp in his crease against the Jets, stopping all 20 shots for his second shut out win. He now has a shut out streak of 140:59.

The Big Pavelski

It seems that for now there’s no stopping Pavs. He is always at the right place at the right time. His hockey sense is absolutely amazing. Combine those two attributes and you have a continuation of a scoring streak. With a bunch of chaos at the net, Joe Pavelski (Assist: Justin Braun) backhanded the  puck past Ondrej Pavelec into the net with great hand-eye coordination to give the Sharks the 1-0 lead. As mentioned earlier, it was the Sharks’ only goal and the only goal of the game.

Next Game Vs. Minnesota Wild

The Sharks continue their home stand as they host the Wild, a team coming off a big win against the Chicago Blackhawks. You can catch the game at 7:30 PM on CSN-CA. You can also listen to KFOX, the San Jose Sharks Radio Network.
