With a consecutive losses against the Winnipeg Jets and Colorado Avalanche, and the Anaheim Ducks beating the Jets 5-4 last night, the San Jose Sharks once again find themselves out of the Pacific Division lead and back into a possible playoff match-up with the Los Angeles Kings. Although the Sharks beat the Edmonton Oilers last night, there’s still a very high possibility that they could meet the Kings first round in first round of the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Let’s say that were to happen and they couldn’t beat out Anaheim for the Division title.
Tomorrow night, the Sharks will again be put up to the test against the Kings. Unfortunately, throughout this season, the Kings have had the Sharks number, as L.A. is 3-1 against San Jose. Last year, it was a home ice affair that lasted throughout the playoffs. The question is, as San Jose battles for home ice advantage, does it really matter for the Sharks given that the Kings have won once at the SAP Center this season?
One thing’s for sure, if the Sharks do play the Kings first round they’ll have revenge on their minds.
