A mere day before the start of the 2014-15 campaign, the San Jose Sharks have trimmed their roster to the required 27 players. In less than 24 hours, fans will be able to see the Sharks face off against the Los Angeles Kings, in a game that unfortunately is the Kings home opener. Meaning that the banner raising for winning the Stanley Cup will be rubbed in the faces of those still hurting from the memory of last years postseason.
The last player to be trimmed from the roster was Taylor Doherty, who was assigned to the teams American Hockey League affiliate. A full roster can be downloaded here.
This offseason has had its up and downs, but be sure that the Sharks will start the season fighting. There is still no word
An excellent season preview was put together by Comcast SportsNet (It’s long but so worth the watch):
As Todd McLellan says himself, “Get ready for a long, hard season.” However opening against the team that destroyed your previous season has the potential to be exactly what this group of men need. A chance to prove that they can rebound as well as anyone.
