The San Jose Sharks have a tradition of letting a player wear a mic on Saturdays when the guys play at home. The newest edition has been created, and none other than Logan Couture had the honor of wearing the mic that night.
It’s always great fun to hear what the guys have to say while playing. Not only will you hear them communicating with other Sharks, but you also hear what they have to say to their opponents.
My favorite part of this episode is when Couture is chirping at Torrey Mitchell of the Boston Bruins. Of course the two have history, seeing as Mitchell played on the Sharks for years. “Those must be a new pair of gloves. They fell off pretty quickly. I forgot how tough you were.”
Of course there’s more to these guys than just being rude to their opponents. The video shows Couture asking Brian Gionta if he was OK during a faceoff.
It’s definitely a different experience for the guys on the ice than for the fans in the stands. It brings us back down to their level and gives everyone a little bit more to relate to and appreciate.
