There will be a Game 7 in the San Jose Sharks organization, and it will be located in Allen, Texas tomorrow night.
The Allen Americans, the Sharks development affiliate in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL), will take on the South Carolina Stingrays in Game 7 of the Kelly Cup Finals.
The Americans will host the Stingrays after South Carolina staved off elimination in Game 6 on Wednesday night. Allen has been led in these playoffs by left-wing Greger Hanson who has 12 goals and 17 assists in 24 playoff games.
Also, Chad Costello has continued to produce for Allen after leading all scorers in ECHL during the regular season, and by a wide margin. Costello is Allen’s second-leading scorer with seven goals and 18 assists; however, during the regular, Costello was lights out. He scored 41 goals and 84 assists, good for 125 points, which was 45 more than the next closest person.
A name that some Sharks fans may recognize is defenseman Konrad Abeltshauser, who has seen some preseason action in San Jose. Abeltshauser has had a nice playoff run with Allen, leading all defensemen on the roster with 16 points (five goals and 11 assists).
In goal, Riley Gil has seen the most action, with a 12-7 record and a 2.49 goals-against-average and a .901 save percentage.
The Americans will be looking for their first ECHL championship, while the Stingrays will be looking to secure their fourth title.
