Earlier today, the San Jose Sharks announced their third annual summer prospects scrimmage will take place during the second week of July. The Sharks will hold their prospects scrimmage on Thursday, July 9 at 7 p.m. at SAP Center. Tickets for the event will be five dollars and will go on sale this Friday, June 19 at 10 a.m.

The prospects scrimmage allows fan a first look at some of the organization’s top young players and a glimpse into the future of the Sharks. This might come in handy as Doug Wilson has often mentioned how the organization has focused on their younger players and their development. While the roster for the event will be finalized at a later date, many big names are expected to attend.

According to the Sharks, Chris Tierney, Mirco Mueller and Barclay Goodrow are all expected to participate. These three players spent a majority of their time in San Jose last year, and Tierney was one of the Sharks best players over the final month of the season.

Also, 2014 first-round pick Nikolay Goldobin, spring signee Jonas Doonskoi and recent WHL champion Rourke Chartier are expected to be on the ice. Furthermore, it’s a safe bet that whomever the Sharks select with the ninth overall pick in the upcoming 2015 NHL Draft, which will be held on June 26 and 27, will also be in attendance.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Sharks Foundation.
