The San Jose Sharks will begin the 2015 season in the same arena where their 2014 campaign began and ended. The Sharks will take on the Los Angeles Kings at Staples Center on Wednesday, October 7 at 7:30 p.m as NHL hockey returns.

San Jose began last season against the Kings in Los Angeles as they had to endure watching the Kings hoist their second Stanley Cup banner. Despite that, everything went smoothly for the Sharks as they shutout the Kings 4-0 to kickstart their 2014 season.

However, by the time the two teams met again on the final day of the regular season, it was disappointment on both sides as each team was eliminated from playoff contention. San Jose would fall to Los Angeles 4-1 as their 2014 season ended on a sour note.

Three nights later, the Sharks will host their home opener against the reigning Pacific Division champions. San Jose will square off against the Anaheim Ducks at SAP Center on Saturday, October 10 at 7:30 p.m.

The Sharks will look to continue their dominance over the Ducks from last season. San Jose posted a 4-0-1 record against Anaheim last season, securing nine out of a possible 10 points. They outscored their Southern California rivals 21-11 over the course of those five games.

The rest of the Sharks 2015-16 schedule will be released tomorrow. In case you missed it, here’s a look at San Jose’s preseason schedule which will feature seven games against the Ducks, Arizona Coyotes and Vancouver Canucks.
