The San Jose Barracuda, the new top development affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, announced six definitive home games for the upcoming 2015-16 season. The Barracuda will actually hold their home opener at SAP Center a night before the Sharks host the Anaheim Ducks on Oct. 10 to kick off the home portion of their schedule. Additionally, the Barracuda list five guaranteed home dates, all Saturdays, that will serve as doubleheaders with the Sharks.

Those dates are as follows:

– Nov. 28, 2015: Barracuda (Movember for Men’s Health Awareness) Sharks (vs. Calgary Flames at 7:00 p.m.)

– Dec. 5, 2015: Barracuda (Ugly Sweater Day) Sharks (vs. Tampa Bay Lightning at 7:30 p.m.)

– Jan. 9, 2016: Barracuda (Bobblehead giveaway) Sharks (vs. Toronto Maple Leafs at 4:00 p.m.)

– Feb. 13, 2016: Barracuda (Pink in the Rink) Sharks (vs. Arizona Coyotes at 7:30 p.m.)

March 26, 2016: Barracuda (Beach Towel giveaway) Sharks (vs. Dallas Stars at 1:00 p.m.)

It’s interesting to note that on certain dates, the Barracuda will play before the Sharks, and others, the Sharks should play before the Barracuda. That should provide plenty of opportunities for Sharks fans to get to the arena early and take in a full-day’s worth of hockey at SAP Center, and check out some of San Jose’s top prospects.

Also, the Barracuda announced they will have two exhibition games before opening the season on Oct. 9. The first will be on Oct. 1 when they host the Stockton Heat, the development affiliate of the Flames, at Sharks Ice in San Jose at 7:30 p.m. The second will be on Oct. 3 when they travel to face the Bakersfield Condors, the development affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers, at Rabobank Arena at 7:00 p.m.

The rest of the Barracuda schedule will be released at a later date and they are scheduled to play 68 games during their inaugural season.
