San Jose Sharks Writers Wanted – Join Team Today

Blades of Teal has steadily grown as FanSided’s home for San Jose Sharks coverage dating back to when the site was first launched. The Sharks have been pushing to break their postseason blockade, is this the year it happens?  The constant has always been our goal here on the site: to give you folks, our readers, the very best Sharks discussion that we possibly can.

The 2015-2016 season is primed with the start of free agency, development camps, and now the transition to training camp and the preseason. The Sharks are circling in the frozen waters – plenty of topics for an aspiring writer! We want you on board with us before the regular season starts – so apply today.

Consider yourself a passionate fan? Read us or other San Jose Sharks sites with regularity and ever wonder if you should write about the team too? Maybe you’re just stumbling across us for the first time, and you like what you see.   Maybe your family and friends have told you to start writing about the team. We are looking to add to our staff here on the site, and this could be your chance to grab a stick and join the team.

Blades of Teal is currently looking to fill multiple roles on the site. From contributors to staff writers to a paid editor- we have a spot for the average fan, or the rabid puck-eater, so whatever category you fall into – we have a spot for you.

Expectations

We like to let our staff write about the aspects of the team they are most passionate about. There’s room for those interested in covering the minor leagues. Maybe you’re more of a transaction junkie, and you want to talk about the impact a new signing or trade could have. Or even just chipping in on series previews, roundtable discussions, or helping with a many of other potential story ideas there could be a place for you here on the team.

Contributing Writers are asked to contribute 1-2 posts per week. We’ll always welcome more frequent contributions than that, but we won’t require it. Editors provide daily content and manage the social media and maintenance of the site.  Either way – we have a spot that fits into your life.

We know that for most this is mostly a hobby and something you do for the love of it. That’s why we do it too, as most of us have families, full-time careers, and/or school to balance into our lives as well (there’s room for things besides hockey, right?). This is an opportunity to join a staff of writers here who are just simply passionate about the San Jose Sharks and want to continue to reach the rest of this great fan base.

Want to join us?

Applying is very easy. Head on over and complete an application. It’ll give you a chance to share some insight into your background (prior online writing experience is not necessary but always encouraged) and let us know why you’d be a fit on site, so give it your best. We’ll be in touch from there.

If you have any questions about the roles, please feel free to email kyle.franzoni@fansided.com or timothy.redinger@fansided.com with any questions.
