The San Jose Sharks and general manager Doug Wilson announced that San Jose recalled nine players from the San Jose Barracuda, their new AHL affiliate. The following players will be returning for the Sharks, with the likelihood that they all return to the Barracuda in short order:
Goaltender:Â Troy Grosenick
Defensemen:Â Karl Stollery and Gus Young
Forwards:Â Bryan Lerg, Michael Haley, John McCarthy, Ryan Carpenter, Frazer McLaren and Jeremy Langlois
The expectation is these players will all feature in San Jose’s final preseason game against the Anaheim Ducks tomorrow night. The Sharks are expected to ice a young roster comprised of many Barracuda players in order to avoid injury-risks for many of their regulars.
The San Jose Sharks open their regular season on Wednesday, Oct. 7 when they travel to face their Southern California rivals in the Los Angeles Kings on the NHL’s opening night.
