On the morning of the San Jose Sharks‘ fourth game of the season against the New Jersey Devils, the team has its first set-back of the season as forward and alternate captain Logan Couture will be out for 4-6 weeks, according to Kevin Kurz of CSNBayArea.com.
ESPN’s Britt McHenry first broke the news with this tweet.

Furthermore, the club has announced that they’ve recalled Nikolay Goldobin from the Sharks’ new AHL affiliate, the San Jose Barracuda. It’ll be interesting how things go in the coming weeks that Couture is injured. Couture has been part of the team’s best line so far with Joel Ward and Patrick Marleau. This second line was especially instrumental in the home opener win against the Anaheim Ducks, combining for 5 points (2 goals, 3 assists).
One thing’s for sure. It won’t be an easy schedule ahead, especially with the game against the Los Angeles Kings next Thursday at SAP Center and the Ducks at home on the 7th of November. A 5-man support system will be paramount, starting today against the Devils.
