It was a quiet week in terms of actual game action for the San Jose Sharks as they returned home from their season-high six game road trip to host a pair of games over the holiday weekend.
The Sharks split those games, falling to the Chicago Blackhawks in their first game back at SAP Center, before handling the lowly Calgary Flames with ease on Saturday night. San Jose continues to maintain their position near the top of the Pacific Division as they sit one point behind the rival Los Angeles Kings.

– It was an all-around team effort on Saturday night as San Jose got back on the winning track on home ice, snapping a three-game home losing streak by downing the Flames by a 5-2 margin. – Just before the Thanksgiving holiday, it was famine for the Sharks as they dropped a 5-2 decision in a disappointing home effort against the Blackhawks. San Jose was able to snap their power-play skid at SAP Center as Brent Burns scored the Sharks’ first man advantage goal of the season at home, but that was the high point of the night from a San Jose perspective.
– Speaking of home ice and SAP Center, the Sharks have slowly been slipping towards mediocrity with their play as the fans haven’t been turning out as usual and San Jose’s play has declined. The Sharks are hoping to bring their road success home with them as they remain one of the top road teams in all of the NHL.
