San Jose Sharks Weekly Roundup
After two tough games in Music City, San Jose responded with a resounding victory in Game 5.
What a week it’s been for the San Jose Sharks as it was filled with plenty of ups-and-downs as team teal continues their second-round battle with the Nashville Predators to see who will move on to the Western Conference finals.
After appearing to lose a grip of this series following two defeats in Nashville, San Jose responded in resounding fashion to put the Predators on the brink of elimination.
Relive all the exciting action of the past week in the latest roundup:
– It was a disappointing start to the week for team teal who traveled to Music City for Game 3 looking to take a commanding series lead. After jumping out to a 1-0 lead, the Sharks couldn’t build upon that as the Predators came storming back, scoring four-straight goals to cut the San Jose lead in half following a 4-1 victory.
– Following that poor result in Game 3, the Sharks needed their penalty kill to step up to the challenge after allowing the Predators to strike for two goals. Since that point, San Jose’s penalty killers have been fantastic in killing off all eight power-play opportunities for Nashville.

– Heading into Game 4, San Jose needed a better all-around effort from everyone throughout their lineup. They would get just that as the Sharks would come back twice in Game 4 before taking a one-goal lead late into the third. Unfortunately, a late, tying goal from James Neal would send things to overtime where team teal appeared to win the game behind a great individual effort from Joe Pavelski. However, the goal would be disallowed and the Sharks would eventually lose in heartbreaking fashion as Mike Fisher scored midway through the third overtime period to give the Predators the 4-3 win.
– After that gut-wrenching loss, the Sharks’ resiliency would be tested again to see if they could bounce back after being so close to taking a 3-1 series lead.
