Brent Burns, Joe Pavelski and Erik Karlsson are your San Jose Sharks representatives heading to the 2019 NHL All-Star Game at the SAP Center.
It has been a whirlwind of a season for the San Jose Sharks, but team teal will put their stress to rest as Brent Burns, Joe Pavelski and Erik Karlsson turn into joyful hosts for the 64th National Hockey League All-Star Game at SAP Center in San Jose.
Burns will make the sixth all star appearance of his career, including his fifth selection in a row, all of which being with San Jose. The 33-year-old leads all NHL defensemen with 37 assists and is now tied for the lead in points among defensemen with Toronto’s Morgan Reilly, with 44. Burns’ 16 points quarterbacking on the power play ranks third among blueliners.

Burns not only racks up high figures in the points column, but he’s a superstar off the ice with his beard and smile bringing happiness to all NHL fans alike. Whether it’s his Wookie appearance or happy feet dancing at warm-ups, Burns will be one gracious giant representing the San Jose Sharks with his classy and friendly style.
Burns’ new teammate on the blue line, Erik Karlsson earns his sixth selection to the All-Star Game as well. This is Karlsson’s first All-Star bid on the Western Conference side with the previous five hailing from the Ottawa Senators and the Atlantic Division.
The two-time Norris Trophy winner has gotten off to a slow start to the 2018-2019 campaign, however EK65 has been on a surge with team-leading 18 points in the month of December. On the year, Karlsson has 3 goals and 30 apples on the year, which ranks him seventh in scoring among defensemen. In addition, Karlsson leads the Sharks in ice time with 24:34 TOI/GP.
The Swedish superstar will go from end-to-end to lead San Jose and his fellow Pacific Division mates to victory in this year’s skills competitions and All-Star Game.
Lastly, Joe Pavelski rounds out the trio in teal with his third All-Star Game appearance The San Jose Sharks Captain is having a career year, topping his total goals from last year (22), with 24 goals in 41 games this season. His 24 lamp-lighters are tied for ninth in the NHL with Tampa Bay’s Brayden Point.
This is the fifth time in franchise history that San Jose will have three or more skaters taking part in the All-Star festivities. The most recent time was two years ago when Pavelski, Martin Jones, Brent Burns, and even head coach Peter DeBoer made their way to Los Angeles for annual All-Star event.
The All-Star weekend makes it way to San Jose January 24-26. The All-Star skills competition is Friday, January 25th at 5:00 p.m. PST. The 64th All-Star Game is Saturday, January 26th at 5:00 p.m. PST.
