Your San Jose has won the 2024 NHL draft lottery! This is big news because it means the organization will hold the first overall pick for the first time when the draft comes around in late June. We will see the Sharks with the capabilities to draft Macklin Celebrini first overall, a potentially franchise-altering draft pick for a hockey club that desperately needed it. Celebini is going to be a big part of the Sharks' future.

If you don't know anything about the prospects in the 2024 NHL draft, Celebrini is by far the cream of the crop. Already a force in the NCAA at just 17, he recorded 32 goals and 32 assists for 64 points in 38 games. He was an incredible player for Boston University this season. His season was good enough to win the Hobey Baker Award as the NCAA's most valuable player.

Celebrini is the unanimous first-overall pick in the 2024 NHL draft, and the San Jose Sharks general manager has made no secret of their desire to draft the Canadian forward. Grier is already setting up conversations regarding the future of Celebrini and whether it is in the NHL this year or going back to Boston to continue his development path. There's a lot to consider with a player of his quality, but he will be a San Jose Shark in the future.

Celebrini will line up beside Will Smith, William Eklund, and Quentin Musty in the future, and it's such an exciting prospect. There's no denying that the sun will shine bright on the San Jose Sharks organization in a few years. A brighter tomorrow is forever coming closer to the Bay Area in the hockey world. Celebrini could jump to the NHL next year, but that is a conversation for a different time.
