After a dismal start to the season, the San Jose Sharks are back in action, looking for its first win of the season tonight. With the Los Angeles Kings providing the opposition as the team in teal continues its struggles, San Jose can start to build momentum with two points tonight. Los Angeles has endured a mediocre start at 3-2-2, so this roster can be beaten. San Jose knows there is a win here if they do the right things.

Sitting atop that list of things the Sharks need to do is discipline. Stay out of the box. San Jose's penalty kill isn't completely awful, but you can't test it six or seven times a night like they have been recently. Stay out of the box, and the Sharks will give themselves a chance. At 5-on-5, dare I say San Jose have been good? It might be a stretch, but they've not been 0-5-2 bad.

Mackenzie Blackwood is the confirmed starter tonight, showing that the netminder from last season still has the confidence of Warsofsky. Blackwood tried to steal the game against the Anaheim Ducks last time but was foiled by the Sharks' inability to score. He was spectacular, and he'll need to repeat that effort if San Jose is going to get a win from tonight. Goaltending is not the issue with the roster, but they need to be incredible to get points.

Tonight's game will begin at 7:30 from the City of Angels. Knowing that this Kings team is there to be beaten, San Jose knows there are a few points on offer if they play well. It won't be an easy game for San Jose, but there's a reason to be optimistic. As the games keep rolling, there are more chances for the Sharks to break their winless run of results and get into the win column.
