San Jose Sharks Look to Get First Win of the Season in First Road Game in Dallas
It's San Jose Sharks gameday. The team in Teal begins a road trip in Dallas tonight. Still winless on the season, the Sharks will look to remedy this at the American Airlines Center. It will not be easy, as this is a Dallas team with Stanley Cup hopes and aspirations, and the Sharks are making this road trip without rookie phenom Macklin Celebrini. It's the first road game of the season for the team in Teal. Can they get the win they're looking for?
As I mentioned, there will be no Celebrini. San Jose is yet to score a goal that counts without the 2024 first-overall pick coming off the shutout by Anaheim. That must change for the two points to go home to the bay. Mikael Granlund has been the one inserted back into the middle on the top line, but that line struggled against Anaheim. Knowing how well the Lund line worked last year, we may see Tyler Toffoli swap with Fabian Zetterlund to reunite that Trio.
As for the crease, Vitek Vanacek was good in his debut against Anaheim but outdueled by Lukas Dostal. I'd expect the rotation to continue with Mackenzie Blackwood getting the nod for this game, but you can make the case for both netminders. Neither has been the reason for the team's 0-1-1 record after two games. Whichever one goes will have the confidence of Ryan Warsofsky.

Tonight's game should start at 5 p.m. Pacific as we look for the Sharks to get their first win of the season. Dallas will be looking to continue their perfect start to the season, as they're 3-0 so far. Can the Sharks upset a team with Stanley Cup aspirations, or will the favorites crush the Shark pups at the American Airlines Center? Only one way to find out, and that's tonight.
