San Jose Sharks Look to Rebound From Lousy Performance as They Host the Avalanche
Coming off a disappointing game in Winnipeg, where the team in teal scored eight goals, the San Jose Sharks will return to the ice at the SAP Center as the Colorado Avalanche come to town. It's never fun to play the Avalanche, but coming off the back of their first win of the season when they beat the Anaheim Ducks in Overtime. We'll see if the Sharks can pick up their first win of the season tonight.
After both Vitek Vanecek and Mackenzie Blackwood were exposed to that onslaught against the Winnipeg Jets, the team's starter in teal is still unknown. It will probably be Vanecek since Blackwood started the Jets game, but he was not the reason that game got out of hand so quickly. It was a bad team game; both netminders were left to dry. They were in a no-win situation, with a few good saves not being enough.
Macklin Celebrini is not expected to play tonight for the Sharks as he continues to rehab his hip injury sustained in the preseason. Celebrini is a massive miss for the Sharks, and getting results without him has proved to be too difficult for this Sharks roster. At home, in front of the crowd, and against a team that's come out of the gates slowly, San Jose will get a great chance to correct the course.

Puck Drop
This 5 p.m. puck drop is early from the Shark Tank as the Sharks look for their first win of the season. Georgiev has struggled this season, and with the hot starts of guys like Tyler Toffoli, Mikael Granlund, and Fabian Zetterlund, there's a lot of hope that the Sharks could net a bagful tonight. They have the talent, and this is a game there for the taking.
