After defeat on Long Island, the San Jose Sharks play an early matinee this Martin Luther King Day as they visit the Boston Bruins. It's been a long trip for the Sharks, who won in Detroit before falling in both Long Island and Columbus. Boston is a winnable game, as the Bruins have struggled to get going in 2025, but the Sharks need to solidify their defensive game. They'll be looking for a better performance this morning.

Henry Thrun, Will Smith, and Collin Graf will all be heading home to play today. Graf and Smith will be making their first appearance at TD Garden. Macklin Celebrini was another one who played in the Northeast, and the Canadian will get his chance to show just how talented he is on the big stage today. If the Sharks want to win, the 2024 first-overall pick needs to shine for Team Teal this morning.

San Jose will turn to Yaroslav Askarov in goal after the best efforts of Alexandar Georgiev to keep them competitive were in vain in the last two games. We'll see if the Sharks can get back in the win column with the young star netminder in Askarov instead of the reclamation project that Mike Grier took on from the Colorado Avalanche. San Jose needs the two points to get away from the bottom of the standings, and it's a good chance for that tonight.

Puck Drop

It's an 11 a.m. puck drop for this one, as it's a matinee from TD. Garden. Early morning hockey to kick off Martin Luther King Jr. Day is a great way to celebrate. Enjoy the day and watch some Sharks hockey. These young kids will get a chance to show that they are the future of the NHL as many of them head toward their old homes and colleges to play in Beantown.
