The Sharks have announced the dates and roster for their 2025 Development Camp. The Full roster can be found here. Development Camp will run from June 30th to July 3rd.
Eight of the nine players drafted this past weekend will be present at development camp this year. The only player from the class is Russian defender Ilyas Magomedsultanov, who isn't able to make it in time from Russia. This is the norm with late-round russian prospects post-draft and not outside of expectations.
An interesting name is present on the list in undrafted forward prospect Landon Marleau. Son of Sharks legend Patrick Marleau, Landon does not come with the same pedigree as his father. Posting 6 points in the BCHL, a Junior A league for Powell River. Still, it’s not the end of the world for his development. Recent 5th-round pick Max Heise, who was passed over after posting underwhelming numbers in Junior A before breaking out in his D+1, is a good example. This will be an excellent opportunity for Landon to learn from and be around talented players his age, in addition to a fun story for Sharks fans to follow.
The prospect scrimmage will take place on July 3rd at 11 AM and can be watched on all of the Sharks' digital channels. While it won't be as exciting as last year with Macklin Celebrini, this is a good opportunity for Sharks fans to see top young talent in the organization, including recent 2nd overall pick Michael Misa, for the first time. Players looking to battle for a spot in training camp, such as Sam Dickinson, Igor Chernyshov, and Quentin Musty, will also participate this year, with the hope that it will be their last time.
One off the radar player to watch is Joey Muldowney, the 2022 6th-round pick, who broke out with 29 goals for UConn in the NCAA this past year and has taken significant strides since being drafted out of prep school.
The Future is coming for the San Jose Sharks, and Dev Camp is always a good way to see the progress and development of the Next Wave of Sharks players.
