Doherty spend his time in the American Hockey League during the 2013-14 campaign with the Sharks affiliate in Worcester. He recorded 15 points, including four goals and 11 assists. He also racked up 111 penalty minutes while playing in 69 games.
He has a total of 175 career AHL games with a total of five points and 26 assists. He has a total of 254 penalty minutes.
Doherty likes to play physically and isn’t afraid to head to the penalty box as is obvious from the numbers above. After the signing of John Scott, one has to wonder if the Sharks are moving in a more physical direction in addition to focusing on youth.
