Joe Pavelski had an incredible year with the San Jose Sharks. Not only recording record points in his career, he was able to represent his country in the 2014 Olympics in Sochi as well as lead the Sharks into the playoffs.

2013-14 Review
Pavelski had a career year, posting a total of 79 points consisting of 41 goals and 38 assists. The blowout year for Pavs also encouraged him to take a more present role on the ice. Over seven playoff games played, he recorded two goals and four assists. Pavelski was voted onto the NHL All-Star’s second team and also received votes for both the Hart and Selke trophies.
Offseason Events
The most talk surrounding Pavelski this offseason is that of where he will stand in terms of leadership. With the stripping of Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau of their letters, younger leaders are bound to pop up for the team. Pavelski would be an amazing leader and already has taken on some of those roles.
2014-15 Prediction
A poll was posted in another article here on Blades of Teal in regards to where Pavelski should play in the coming season. The choices were between being a top line winger or a third line center. The results (at the time this article was written): 76% want Pavs to be in the top six as a winger. With Burns moving back to the blue line and trading Martin Havlat, there is a chance he will join the top two lines. In all honesty, I have no idea which route Todd McLellan and Doug Wilson will take here. Either way, he is sure to remain an offensive threat.
I do believe that Pavelski will have the chance to wear a letter on his sweater this coming season. Whether it will be an ‘A’ or ‘C’ only time will tell.
