We are now 24 days away from the beginning of the Sharks season, but due to constant football watching and being glued to the TV for some great games yesterday, I forgot to post number 25. Oops. So because of that, today we will look at both the best number 25 and the best number 24 in San Jose Sharks history. At number 25, Vincent Damphousse.

Vincent Damphousse holds a special place in my heart as he is the first Sharks player I scored a goal with in NHL 2002, the first hockey video game I owned, and the game that got me into hockey. But regardless of my personal love for Vincent, he was also a very good player for the San Jose Sharks. Strike that, he was a very good player his entire career. But specifically with San Jose, Damphousse put up fantastic numbers his first three years with the Sharks. Even during the last three years when Damphousse was on the tail end of his career, he put up 41 points in an 82 game season. Looking at his numbers in years past, it was the last year of Damphousse’s career, and he ended up with over 1,000 games played and points scored. A great career capped off by a great stint in San Jose.
Sergei Makarov is the best number 24 in San Jose Sharks history, due to his two years of solid point production and lack of other options. The next closest option is Doug Wilson, and he wasn’t very impressive. Makarov had 68 points in 80 games in 1993, and then 24 points in 43 games in 1994. So Sergei Makarov is the greatest number 24 in San Jose Sharks history.
