Yes, it’s another two day post for this series. With school going on I’ve become a bit busy and sometimes can’t find the time to get the article done, but bear with me folks.

Today we will look at the best number 23 and number 22 in San Jose Sharks history. With number 23, we have Scott Gomez.

Yes, you heard me right. Turns out there weren’t a lot of good players that wore number 23 with the San Jose Sharks. Scott Gomez was only here for technically half of a year due to the lockout season, and he only played 39 games. But in those 39 games, he accumulated 15 points. If he had played a full season, and continued on that path, he would have the most points by a Shark who wore the number 23. Plus, he was pretty good defensively and every time he scored a goal (only twice) we got to laugh about how Scott Gomez actually scored a goal. RIP didgomezscore.com.

While you all may disagree with my decision for number 23, there’s no possible way you’ll disagree with my choice for number 22. The greatest San Jose Shark to ever wear the number 22 is, without question, Mr. Daniel Boyle.

Dan Boyle came to San Jose in the 2008-2009 season and immediately became a defenseman the Sharks would rely on in the future. Year in and year out, Dan Boyle would be an offensive powerhouse on the blue line and was always a fan favorite with the San Jose Sharks.

Now, I live on the East Coast, so I don’t get to go to a lot of Sharks games at the Tank. And by a lot, I mean I’ve only been to one game at the tank. That game, was in April of 2012 against the Los Angeles Kings on Fan Appreciation Night. The Sharks were down 2-0 when Dan Boyle scored twice to lead the comeback. Once in the 3rd period, and once in overtime. That was the best hockey experience I’ve had and I owe it to Dan Boyle. And the rest of the team, but Dan’s still the one that scored. Boyle was not resigned by the Sharks this year and is now playing in New York with the Rangers. I can’t imagine the ovation he’ll get when he returns to the Tank. We’ll miss you, Dan.

We’re almost into the top 20! Which means we’re almost less than 20 days away from hockey season!
