San Jose Sharks: “Classics Games” to Air During Preseason

Comcast SportNet California is going to air a “Sharks Classics Games” series and will debut October 2. In an attempt to get fans excited for the start of the San Jose Sharks season, remember some of the best games over the 2013-14 campaign will do just the trick. The Sharks struggled throughout various areas of last year, however highlighting what they did well is a great way to remind fans that the Sharks are still a force to be reckoned with.

More from Sharks News

Tomorrow at 8:00 the first game will be broadcasted taking us back to last October when the Sharks faced the New York Rangers on the 8th. This is the infamous game where Tomas Hertl scored his four goals and everyone realized what an amazing rookie the Sharks had on their roster.

October 5 at 7:30 is the next showing, taking viewers to December 2013 when the Sharks battled the Colorado Avalanche. This amazing game showcased Joe Pavelski’s skills where he was able to score with a mere 20 seconds left in regulation to tie the game. The game went to a shootout where Logan Couture and Patrick Marleau brought the W.

October 6 at 2:00 goes back to February of this year when the Sharks and the Dallas Stars faced off. Tommy Wingels was able to score less than two minutes into overtime, enabling the Sharks to take home yet another win.

A double feature on the 6th brings another game to the screen at 8:00. In March, the Sharks played against the Pittsburgh Penguins where they were able to come back from a two goal deficit and win the game.

The final game will air on October 7 at 7:00. Another March game, but this time the Sharks came head to head with the Anaheim Ducks with the Pacific Division on the line. Brent Burns came through for the team and scored with 3:59 left in regulation.

I’m not sure about you, but there’s never enough hockey on so this extra emphasis is pretty awesome to start the season. Also, to encourage viewers, there will be free tickets given to fans who tweet a picture of themselves and friends watching the game with the hashtag #SharksClassicGames.
