San Jose Sharks Weekly Roundup

The summer is quickly coming to an end and as school begin to start up once again, that means San Jose Sharks hockey is getting closer and closer to returning as well.

In case you’ve been busy soaking in those rays of sunshine, here’s the latest Sharks news from the past week to get you all caught up:

Joe Thornton had a rough 2014-15 season, both on-and-off the ice, but it always seems to be blown out of proportion when it comes to the former Sharks captain. Check out an analysis of Thornton’s performance, along with a season review for Jumbo Joe who is still the primary face of this franchise.

– Similarly, the 2014-15 season was a struggle for Tomas Hertl. After breaking on to the scene his rookie year and instantly becoming a fan favorite, Hertl endured a sophomore slump which he will be looking to bounce back from next year.

– Earlier in the week, Corey Pronman of ESPN released his Top 100 rankings and the San Jose Sharks placed four prospects on that list. Leading the charge was 2015 second-round selection Jeremy Roy who checked in at number 48.

– Also, Pronman released his rankings of all 30 NHL teams in terms of organizational prospects, and the San Jose Sharks were slotted at number 19, eight spots of where they were ranked at this same time last year.

– In a final look at some of San Jose’s prospects throughout their organization, here’s a look at the top three Sharks prospects that are playing in the Ontario Hockey League. Leading the way on this list is second-round pick Julius Bergman who could be in line to see some action with the San Jose Barracuda.
