Doug Wilson made three key acquisitions this offseason, bringing in Martin Jones, Paul Martin and Joel Ward. Thus far, the three players have all made a positive impression in their first game action with the Sharks.

– The San Jose Sharks had four preseason games during the past week and you can take a look back at the different performances by the Sharks to this point.

  • San Jose dropped their preseason opener, a 1-0 overtime loss at the hands of the Vancouver Canucks during the Kraft Hockeyville promotion.
  • One night later, Jones was stellar in his Sharks debut, making 30 saves as San Jose shut out Vancouver by a 4-0 margin.
  • The Sharks returned home to take on the Arizona Coyotes last Friday night and continued their solid play, posting a 4-1 victory as Alex Stalock took home the win.
  • Finally, San Jose took on the reigning Pacific Division champion Anaheim Ducks, and after taking an early lead, the Sharks couldn’t hold on as the Ducks downed San Jose.

– Though it’s still early in training camp and the preseason, it’s never too early to try and draw some conclusions from what’s taken place. Here are the top five takeaways from the San Jose Sharks as the regular season approaches.

– After struggling during the 2014-15 season, Tomas Hertl has looked very impressive in training camp as he looks to regain his rookie form. Hertl is a key player to watch for the Sharks as they will rely upon him to provide an offensive presence.
