Well, what another week it’s been for the boys in teal as the San Jose Sharks concluded their longest road trip of the season in stunning fashion. San Jose won all of their games over the past week, including a pair of consecutive games this weekend to wrap up their first 6-0 road trip in Sharks history.
It’s been a truly remarkable stretch of hockey for the Sharks that has seen them overtake first place in the Pacific Division, and they now sit a season-high five games over the .500 mark with a 13-8-0 record and 26 points.

– San Jose began their week with a back-and-forth, high scoring affair that saw both teams light up the scoreboard offensively. Fortunately for the Sharks, they would be the ones that came out on top as San Jose downed the Boston Bruins by a 5-4 margin to improve to 3-0 on their road trip. The Sharks top line of Joe Thornton, Joe Pavelski and Melker Karlsson combined for three goals, five assists and a plus-six rating.

– Speaking of Karlsson, his return to the lineup provided a big boost for the Sharks lineup. Karlsson has returned to the top line with Thornton and Pavelski where he’s racked up three goals, one assist and a plus-six rating in seven games this season.
– The Sharks road trip was very impressive in many different aspects, but the main one was their ability to win games in a variety of different ways. That is one sign of a very good team since no two games will play out the same.
– San Jose continued their winning ways as they traveled to Pittsburgh for a matchup against Sidney Crosby and the Penguins. The Sharks defense paved the way for a San Jose victory as Brent Burns scored twice and Paul Martin provided the insurance tally as the Sharks took home a 3-1 win. Martin Jones made a season-high 38 saves in picking up his fifth-straight win.
– Circling back to the aforementioned Jones, he’s been one of the Sharks best players through the quarter-mark of the season. Jones has fully assumed the number one role in San Jose as he’s tied for the league-lead with 11 wins, and he made five of the six starts on the recent road trip.
– Finally, the Sharks closed out their season-high road trip in thrilling fashion as San Jose scored four straight goals in the third period to pull out a 5-3 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets as the Sharks closed out their Eastern Conference swing with all 12 points.
