Look at this moment.
John Scott just did something amazing. He convinced the NHL All-Star game to step off the ledge and live a healthy life as intended. Can this moment get any better?
Yes, it can. The NHL missed out on a massive opportunity to elect Mike Brown as a co-captain in the All-Star game. Imagine how entertaining the All-Star game would be with a goon among the NHL’s best. This event in Nashville would have been the best in All-Star history.

Mike Brown Knows Leadership
First of all, Brown’s best quality with the San Jose Sharks is his ability to recognize when his team needs a boost in energy. Unlike another certain teammate, Brown takes charge in a more peaceful manner. On occasion, Brown will volunteer as a healthy scratch to allow players like Barclay Goodrow, Dainius Zubrus or even Scott to infuse energy into the lineup.
In fact, there was a conspiracy that Brown was healthy scratched for tonight’s All-Star game because there was only room for one superstar.
The NHL would intervene and destroy the Sharks
One of the more notorious moments of the John Scott saga was that the NHL felt the need to intervene by trading him from the Arizona Coyotes to the Montreal Canadiens. If Brown was elected as co-captain of an All-Star team, you can bet that intervention would end his legacy with the Sharks. I mean that’s what always happens in these situations right?
However, there will be some negatives to a Mike Brown trade.
I can’t find the words to describe a world where Brown is no longer a Shark. Where will this team find the energy to win hockey games? I guess the Sharks should start tanking to the bottom of the standings now that there isn’t any meaning to life anymore. They didn’t even have to trade Joe Thornton or Patrick Marleau to do it too!
The NHL Missed Out on the Greatest Opportunity in All-Star Game History
You know what would make this moment better?
If Brown did the same thing. Seriously, how cool would it have been if Scott and Brown engaged in a jousting battle while celebrating their All-Star victory? Sharks fans won’t have to worry about the risk of injury,
neither of them are on the Sharks
both players have full padding on.

Most importantly, it will protect the integrity of the event. Mike Brown can make the All-Star game great again so I’m baffled that he didn’t receive any consideration. The NHL will struggle to move the game forward if they fail to recognize players like Brown, its up to them to make the right decision.
